Howdy folks! Thanks for visiting the page! The post is part of a larger blog detailing our trip to Disney World and Universal in Florida. We visited in April 2026 so bear that in mind for the prices and food on offer. Prices also include tax unless stated.
LINK TO THE MAIN BLOG HERE! (Once finished – not yet!)

Initially, we were going to rank the food items using an intricate scoring system. There were a few flaws in this, as the food items chosen were a mix of entrées, starters and kids meals. Also, we’re both very ‘vanilla’ when it comes to cuisine, so I’d probably make myself look a bit of a dick, especially considering the very good score I gave to France for such a crap choice… Eurovision vibes.
Before we focus on the countries item individually, here is a list in clockwise order:
Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, USA, Japan, Morocco, France, UK and Canada.

Unfortunately, even I don’t have the appetite to do all 11 in one go. We had USA as a full dinner one day, 5 countries the next and the last 5 a day after that.
A little about EPCOT…
Out of the 4 main parks at Disney World Florida, EPCOT, in my opinion, is the one that relies least on its rides. Whilst they do boast some of the most popular such as Test Tracks and Cosmic Rewind, I’ll look back on EPCOT for it’s small villages surrounding a large lake that provides a terrific lights and firework display in the evening. I’ll cover a lot more about EPCOT (including what the acronym means!) in the main post, which can be viewed here (link) once finished (not yet!).
Okay let’s crack on…

USA
BBQ Platter – Memphis dry-rubbed pork ribs, North Carolina chopped smoked pork butt, and smoked sausage served with cornbread and fries.
$18.49 / £13.98 without tax
Thoughts: Had this as a separate meal and for the price it was up there with my favourite and good value options of the whole trip. We went to Hickory’s in the UK a few months prior and this easily would’ve cost £20+, and the outskirts of Cardiff is not Disney World.

MEXICO
Taco de calamar – Crispy calamari, fried garlic, pasilla aioli, and chives in a flour tortilla.
$9.59 / £7.29
Thoughts: Tasted nice but a tiny portion! The tortilla was like 5 inches. We somehow had to share this!

NORWAY
Norwegian Kringla – Pretzel-shaped Pastry with Sweet Fondant, Raisins, and Chocolate Topping
$7.98 / £6.07
Thoughts: Decent size and the chocolate topping and raisins went some way to make it more interesting than your standard pretzel. Enough to share.

CHINA
Pork and cabbage Egg rolls
$6.44 / £4.82
Thoughts: Basic but hot and tasty for a quick snack. Could’ve been charged the price for one, which would have been criminal. A dip of soy or sweet chilli would’ve been good, and kinda expected.
Starting to be a bit more arsed with the photos now….

GERMANY
Pretzelbread Bratwurst with sauerkraut and paprika chips
$13.51 / £10.27
Thoughts: Decent portion. We should’ve had the kids version as this was so filling after 3 others items! Tasted as expected. Pretzel roll was something different. Paprika crisps a bit out of place?

ITALY
Cannoli Al Cioccolato – Crisp Pastry filled with Sweet Ricotta, Chocolate, and Candied Orange
$9.59 / £7.29
Thoughts: Pricey but delicious. I don’t even know what ricotta is. Perfect amount of filling v pastry. Would actually stump up the cash for this again. Mikayla didn’t like it so had 90% to myself. Bonus!
This tipped me over the edge for the days session, although I did have pizza for tea that evening. On to tomorrow…

FRANCE
Half / small freshly baked baguette.
$3.15 / £2.39
Thoughts: Jeez I felt stupid asking for just this in a bakery offering so many cakes and savoury options, but we wanted something simple to kick things off at dinner time and it wasn’t too long after we had lunch. The baguette was… a baguette… but those butter portions applied as thick as possible made it. What’s not to love? For that price it’s the best bargain you’ll find anywhere in Disney. Was in real danger of scoring highest, thus the reason why I ditched scoring, cos it’s just a damn baguette!

JAPAN
Teriyaki Chicken with rice and broccoli
$9.06 / £6.88 (kids portion)
Thoughts: Good portion for a kids meal and came with a cookie and juice carton. Food basic but nice and extra points for the seating area overlooking a koi carp pond. Worth noting that we’ve never tried sushi and I personally have no intention to start.

MOROCCO
Moroccan Wrap with Spiced Lamb, Tomato-Cucumber Relish and Garlic Sauce served on Warm Moroccan Flatbread
$6.70 / £5.08
Thoughts: Lamb was a kofta style kebab. Bit heavy on the sauce for my liking. Good portion, crying comparing the value of this v Mexico.

UK (pretty much just England)
I did say to the lady serving that it had been a while since I heard a posh accent like hers in the UK. She then turned it off and explained she was from Nottingham! She didn’t think they had any Welsh Speakers as one just left, so there’s a job available if you siarad Cymraeg!
Fish and Chips.
$14.49 /£10.96 without tax
Thoughts: Was wary of this but the fish was fried really well. Not a huge lover of batter in general but could pick the fish off. Chips alright, didn’t expect ‘proper’ chips. Surprised to see no mushy peas in the vicinity, although nice to find some vinegar on offer somewhere. Cost was OK it’s not much cheaper at home! Apologies for the photo as it was now nighttime, the fish wasn’t green!

CANADA
Maple Syrup popcorn
$7.44 / £5.65
Thoughts: Sensible option to finish off (very full at this point). Not cheap but no worse than a cinema. Syrup tasted great, much better than your standard sweet or salted. On a par with toffee Butterkist which is a compliment.

So that’s it! It’s worth mentioning that each country has a wide range of different food options to choose from (apart from the UK). We’re quite fussy so at times took a boring option or tried to save a few cents.
AND THE WINNER IS…
Whilst I binned off scoring I will tell you my top three…
- 3rd place – NORWAY
- 2nd place – USA
- 1st place – ITALY
Fun fact: Italy won my food choice, but on the same day missed out on their third World Cup on the trot, losing their playoff to Bosnia mere minutes before my delicious cannoli! At least they won the important competition eh, amici?
HOW MUCH?!?
And finally, something I don’t really want to do but feel necessary to complete the challenge. I’ve guesstimated the amount of tax on the two items with prices pre-tax…
The total is…
$108 / £81.65
Not as bad as I thought! All in, we had 2 mealtimes each, so £20 each per session for a wide selection!
Thanks for reading. Hope you can check out my full Disney World and Universal Florida blog once posted!
I still need to finish off (or start, sigh) my trips to Kazakhstan, Romania, Liechtenstein and Elan Valley (Wales) but may prioritise this trip whilst fresh in the memory!
See y’all real soon!
